The Heart of the Gospel

In this passage Paul reveals to us that the core of the Gospel is Jesus. Without Jesus there is no Gospel. If we try to water down Jesus and make Him simply “a really cool guy”, then we need to recognize that we are watering down the power of the Gospel to transform our lives. A watered down Jesus who isn’t the true creator God, doesn’t have the power to save us. A Jesus who didn’t resurrect from the dead means our “Good News” is still dead and buried in the grave. The letter of Colossians will reveal that if we want to grow in our faith, first and foremost we need to recognize who Jesus is and what He’s accomplished.
